Troop 130 is a Scouts BSA all-girls troop in Alexandria, VA.
We value accepting all of our fellow scouts, regardless of where they are on their scouting journeys. Some of us strive to become Eagle Scouts and some of us are just here to have a good time, but we have fun either way and learn life skills in the process. Some of us go to pretty much every event and some of us just attend a couple of events a year.
We are a relatively new troop, but many of our scouts are advancing quickly through the ranks. Our incoming Senior Patrol Leader became our first Life Scout in 2023. Our outgoing Senior Patrol Leader became our second Life Scout last fall and our first Order of the Arrow member this spring. We have two additional Star Scouts in the troop, one a Den Chief and the other our Troop Guide / Troop Instructor. They did all of this while balancing school, sports, and other activities.
Camping is a big part of what we do. We typically schedule three campouts in the spring and three in the fall each year. We have made a tradition out of camping on the beach at Assateague Island every spring. In the winter, we schedule a wide variety of mostly-outdoor activities like hiking and skiing. This summer, we will be going to Philmont for the first time. We are also gradually introducing troop service projects and fund-raisers into the program.

Troop 130 is chartered by Westminster Presbyterian Church, where we meet weekly on Thursdays at 7PM. Our members attend a wide variety of schools, both public and private, in and around Alexandria. Our brother troop is Troop 129. We are the first Scouts BSA all-girls troop in the city of Alexandria, founded in September 2021.
